Parents who are dedicated to their children’s well-being strive to give the best
opportunities for their development. They foster growth at home and guarantee access to
resources that promote health and success. Parents nurture a well-rounded upbringing by investing in their children’s education. They enroll them in reputable schools. They also encourage participation in extracurricular activities like music, the arts and sports.
When a child displays particular talents or aptitudes, parents support their ambitions. They seek scholarships and extra opportunities. This helps place them on a trajectory for professional achievement. It also ensures long-term fulfillment.
Mary and Joseph, regarded as devout figures, were responsible for raising Jesus. Like all
children, Jesus underwent natural growth and development. Dr. Jackson provides valuable
insights into the events that led to Jesus remaining at the temple with the teachers. During
their return from a celebration, Jesus became separated from His parents midst the
crowd.
Mary and Joseph traveled for an entire day before realizing He was missing. Despite
searching among relatives and acquaintances, they did not locate Him, which caused
them significant concern. After three days, they found Jesus in the temple—an
environment well-suited for learning and intellectual engagement—demonstrating His
exceptional aptitude as a student within a setting dedicated to teaching and scholarship.
In Daniel 1:4, we learn that Daniel was a noble youth deported to Babylon. He was selected
for his wisdom and knowledge. He underwent an education in Chaldean language, skills
mathematics and glass-making. This secular education prepared him for service in a foreign
government, yet he stayed true to his faith and values despite exposure to Babylonian
culture.
Similarly, Jesus is portrayed as an extraordinary student who demonstrated humility, engaged
in lifelong learning and valued knowledge as a way to honor God. He learned from
respected teachers and encouraged a desire to understand God's law.
Both Daniel and Jesus serve as models for students and learners, highlighting the importance of keeping
integrity, humility, and a teachable spirit in all educational pursuits.
